A beautiful and quite exceptional late 19th Century antique painted French dining table, which features an elegant neoclassical form and lovely proportions.
The D-end white marble top, with lovely figuring, sits above a deeply fluted curtain adorned with pronounced carved rosette tablets. It rests on reeded column tapering legs, which are joined by an unusual curved, cross-form, intricate stretcher, centred by a decorative urn finial.
Gilded borders to the frieze and legs have aged to expose the warm red bole underneath and the legs finish with further carved rosettes.
This is a gorgeous and timeless table, which would make quite the statement in both period and contemporary interiors alike. The table would also make a beautiful centrepiece in a large hallway.
