A rare set of 6 1960s 'Chelsea' hanging pendant lights each with coloured Whitefriars glass tubular bubbled shades. Originally designed in 1958 by Peter Rodd & Richard Stevens for Thorn Atlas Lighting.
Each pendant features a cylindrical black lacquered bulb holder which the glass shade clips into. The coloured shades have an interesting bubble pattern within them which reflects the light beautifully.
Colours: 1 x Blue. 1 x Brown. 2 x Amber. 2 x Red
In full working order. At the moment each pendant has a 3 pin plug fitted to it but they can easily be wired into a ceiling perhaps over a breakfast bar or dining table as a suggestion. In very good vintage condition.
Dimensions: Adjustable Height: 145cm Tube: H: 25cm Diameter: 6 1/2cm
The design won the Design Centre Award in 1960.
