1950s Italian designed by Aldo Londi and manufactured by Bitossi ceramic pottery table lamp base. Following some research I believe it may have originally been a candlestick but converted to a table lamp in the past. The antique brass bulb holder has the on/off switch fitted into it which is accessed beneath the shade. It's been converted well because the flex is hidden and runs through the tapered column shaped base exiting through a drilled hole close to the base. The dark brown, almost black, and white lamp features a fresco of medieval battle scenes around it with the jug handle at the top making it easy to move to other areas of the room. A manufacturer's stamp is on the base. Rewired with a black silk flex and in full working order.
The shade is not included in the price. I recommend shipping the item without a shade and purchasing one locally in order to make the packing and postage costs cheaper which are usually more than what a shade would cost to buy. It also means you can choose one in a shape and colour that suits your taste and matches your decor. If you'd like the shade it's £50.00 plus postage.
