An early 19th century antique French original patinated sofa in the Louis XVI style.  Carved wooden frame with its original Nile green and cream painted frame which is highlighted in gold leaf. 

The top part of the frame has a carved twisted rope border with small carvings of leaves beneath and shaped Acanthus leaf finials at the ends. The shaped arms have ribbed carvings that end in the upholstered rests that finish in a large carved Acanthus leaf. The sofa sits on seven carved ribbed legs with a carved wooden florette adorning the top. 

Newly upholstered in a light coloured Taupe linen fabric.  

In excellent antique condition and very comfortable.
